Celebrating the Completion of BBioNets!

The three-year journey of the EU-funded BBioNets project has officially come to an end, and we are proud to reflect on its remarkable achievements.

Dedicated to accelerating the adoption of Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs) and promoting circular economy practices across the agricultural and forestry sectors, BBioNets has effectively bridged the gap between research and practical, on-the-ground implementation for primary producers across Europe.

BBioNets supported climate resilience by advancing zero-waste principles and the adoption of Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs) to unlock the untapped potential of agricultural and forest biomass while cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Six Regional Multi-Actor Networks (FANs): Forest and Agriculture Networks in Ireland, Spain, Greece, Italy, Poland, and the Czech Republic connected nearly 150 member organisations (primarily farmers, foresters, and advisors) to co-create solutions and prioritise local BBT needs.
  • Online Knowledge Platform: A centralised digital hub that hosts an inventory of approximately 180 BBTs, an interactive BBT Assessment Tool, and detailed regional biomass dynamics studies.
  • 100+ Educational & Practical Assets: Factsheets, practice abstracts, infographics, and BBT-descriptive and storytelling videos tailored specifically to empower farmers and agricultural advisors.
  • Capacity Building & Policy Impact: Dozens of national info-days, train-the-trainer workshops, policy roundtables, and a major EU-level event in Brussels aimed at shaping supportive frameworks for the rural bioeconomy.
  • Standing Liaison Round Table (SLRT): A strategic cooperation platform connecting EU-funded initiatives to ensure cross-project synergies, partner relationships, and joint bioeconomy efforts continue well into the future.
  • Permanent Knowledge Archiving: All results, tools, and training materials permanently archived and freely accessible via the BBioNets platform, EU-FarmBook, Zenodo, and the EU CAP Network.

As a core consortium partner, FOCUS STC played a central, multi-faceted role throughout the project lifecycle:

  • Project Management Office (PMO): Provided crucial administrative and operational support to the project coordinator throughout the 36-month implementation period.
  • Cross-Fertilisation of Ideas: Led efforts to drive knowledge exchange and cross-border collaboration among the six regional FANs across Europe.
  • BBioNets Liaison Office & SLRT Management: Initiated and managed the SLRT, establishing a strategic cooperation platform that connects EU-funded initiatives to unify bioeconomy efforts and ensure long-term synergies.
  • Dissemination & Communication Leadership: Spearheaded the project’s overarching communication strategy, translating complex bioeconomy solutions into clear, engaging visual and educational assets.
  • Greek Regional Support: Actively supported the local implementation of project activities, network events, and stakeholder engagement within Greece.

To maximise the reach and practical impact of BBioNets, FOCUS STC – with content support from the wider consortium – designed and managed a diverse suite of D&C materials to engage primary producers, policy makers, researchers, and regional stakeholders across Europe.

We have compiled a comprehensive presentation portfolio detailing all the materials we have designed, managed, and executed throughout the project lifecycle:

  • Promotional Material: Project templates, general/event web call backgrounds, brochures, overview presentations, posters, roll-up banners, subtitled promotional videos, eco-friendly giveaways, and informational cards.
  • Digital Outreach & Media Channels: Website administration and content updates, multi-platform social media campaigns, periodic digital newsletters, and targeted press releases.
  • Project Legacy Material: Key results promotion through dedicated posters and videos, FAN experience posters, and visual design of project policy briefs.
  • Cross-Fertilisation: Coordination of 11 cross-fertilisation meetings, design of dedicated branding, templates, and promotional materials, and production management of meeting key takeaway documents.
  • Liaison & Synergies (SLRT): Operational management of the SLRT, cross-project collaboration, and joint initiatives (such as the “BioPills” campaign).
  • Project Management Office (PMO): Continuous administrative support and reporting templates for official project meetings.

While the active project phase of BBioNets has ended, the framework and open-access tools created will continue to support primary producers and rural communities toward a greener, economically viable bioeconomy.

At FOCUS STC, we extend our sincere gratitude to the project coordinator, our consortium partners, regional actors, primary producers, agricultural advisors, and all network members whose dedication ensured the success of this three-year effort.
